City of Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus

Branding and Identity, Signage, Fleet design, Print and other Communication Material

As part of a collaborative team, I worked to develop a new identity and design system for the Big Blue Bus brand and sub-brands (the “rapid” and “mini” routes). Our goal was to develop a system that was clear, friendly and of place. In a joint effort with LOHA architects, we re-imagined the bus-stop experience from the design to seating and shelter. Another major component of our work was to develop a new colour system to identify the distinct bus lines, and the team created schedules, maps, bus passes and more using the new system.
